SPOTLIGHT: From September 10th through September 28th, Mobilia Gallery presents the most recent vessels by Elizabeth Whyte Schulze, hand-coiled and fabricated with pine needles, raffia, and handmade paper.
"In creating the tumbler series I was interested in working with smaller cylinder shapes as a way of making multiple baskets to provide me the opportunities of experimentation...'In The Cave' is made up of five cylinders of different heights and widths. Each tumbler in this piece depicts a female figure or a group of women looking at paintings of horses, bison and bulls romping across the Paleolithic cave walls."
- Elizabeth Whyte Schulze
Schulze's collections can be found at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and Philadelphia.
