Painstakingly crafted, these beautiful and functional tools are Sue Aygarn-Kowalski’s dedication to the physical process of creating. Acting as, she says “a counterpoint to digital culture,” her works are anchored in the tactile, the physical and the useful. These hammers, anvils and maces (to name a few of the tools), made from exotic woods, various metals and plastics are stunning in their preciseness and elaborate beauty.

An exacting metalsmith, Sue Aygarn-Kowalski studied at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee and the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Her work is in the collection of The Museum of Arts and Design, New York, and numerous private collections, and has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States.
