Margot di Cono, a master of mezzotint, recently began fabricating jewels in high carat gold and silver. Di Cono incorporates her graphic art and printmaking expertise with precise metalwork techniques to create pieces that are reminiscent of the movement and geometry of Alexander Calder. Her jewels are light, voluminous and exceptionally easy to wear.

Born in Krakow, Poland, di Cono studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, where she received Master of Fine Arts degree. In 1987 she emigrated to Canada and in 1994 was elected to the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. Di Cono currently teaches printmaking at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She has had numerous exhibitions in USA, Canada, France, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, Iceland, and received international awards, including the “Premio Biella 2000” in Italy.
