Acacia is considered a tree of life, bearing leaves, flowers and seeds at the same time. It has a particularly hard wood, grows in barren areas and is very hardy. Gum Arabic is obtained from the wound sap of the acacia tree and is the oldest known type of gum. In accent Egypt it was used for embalming the dead. Gum Arabic is also used in medicine, as a food additive, for gumming, and as a binder for color pigments.
Olive, is a nourishing tree whose fruit and oil have been with us since time immemorial. The olive branch is considered a sign of peace.
White Willow, or Salix Alba, a tree with narrow lanceolate, silvery leaves, is a pioneer plant that grows near water.

"As an artist working in metal and enamel and writing haiku poetry, I have formed vessels which reflect themes, colors, textures and the beauty, severity and mystery of the natural world. The Earth, its plants and animals, geography and landscape, inspire me to create and to try to convey some of the emotional response to being present in wilderness."
